Luise Begas-Parmentier (1841–1920)
Luise Begas-Parmentier, known in Berlin as the “painter of the south“, lived with her husband Adalbert Begas at the Albergo Pagano on Capri in 1885. Their silhouettes form the only portrait of an artist couple there. She was fascinated by the work and life in artists’ colonies and also spent time in Ahrenshoop and Dachau.
