Marie Krøyer (1867–1940)
Marie Krøyer trained at private schools, including Bertha Wegmann’s private painting school in 1883. Inspired by the English Arts and Crafts movement, she gave up painting in favour of a career as an interior and furniture designer. In 1889 she married P.S. Krøyer, who she later divorced, a break with social norms at the time.
