Gustav Gräser (1879–1958)
The poet and philosopher of nature Gustav Gräser was a co-founder of the Monte Verità colony. He was a conscientious objector, living without possessions, barefoot, and in a tunic. Gräser destroyed almost all of his major paintings. His work Der Liebe Macht is considered a key image from the early life reform movement and depicts a utopian world as an alternative to industrialisation.
