Emilie Mundt (1842–1922)
The Danish painter and art teacher Emilie Mundt was a pioneer of women’s rights in art. Together with her partner, the artist Marie Luplau, she adopted a daughter. From 1905 to 1907, Mundt also painted in Skagen beyond the male-dominated art canon – concentrating on children and poverty.
