Katharina Grosse

This work from the year 2022 is the most recent and therefore the chronological culmination of the solo exhibition. The looping motif, which had already played a central role in several other works, is strikingly prominent. Katharina Grosse has applied the spray paint in swinging movements, placing various areas of color ranging from yellow to orange to a vivid magenta adjacent to and over each other. This work refers to the performative working method of the artist, who usually works on several canvases at the same time in her studio, spraying across several paintings in one movement. This work provides us with only a glimpse of a larger movement that extends beyond this particular canvas.
