Rainbow Nation

Following the end of apartheid, South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu optimistically announced the creation of a ‘rainbow nation’. The metaphor was intended to symbolize the harmonious coexistence of all ethnic groups, tribes, and cultures, which he and many others wanted for a country located on the Cape of Good Hope.
